Figlio d’arte: sua madre Eva Sabbatini è stata, infatti, una delle creatrici di moda più innovative negli Anni ‘60 e ’70. Ci piace ricordare che, sei mesi prima di Mary Quant, lanciò la minigonna e gli shorts ad una prima della Scala.
Alfredo Sabbatini nasce reporter. In America, a 17 anni, ha già fatto il primo “coast to coast” sulle orme di Kerouac e da quel momento non si ferma più. Per oltre venticinque anni gli Stati Uniti sono la sua seconda casa.
Fotografia sportiva, baseball e football americano in particolare gli affinano le capacità di concentrazione e di rapidità.
Negli Anni ‘70 fotografa il boom dei jeans (Carrera, Pooh, Levi’s) e, per settimanali come L’Europeo, Amica, Oggi, firma copertine, servizi di moda, reportage, ritratti.
A 23 anni collabora con Playboy e inizia una ricerca sul corpo e la sua forma che lo porterà a diventare uno dei più quotati e innovativi fotografi di intimo, costumi da bagno e abbigliamento sportivo di tutti gli Anni ‘80.
Gli Anni ‘90 lo completano nell’ambito dell’editoria e della comunicazione attraverso un’esperienza complessa come art director, regista e curatore di mostre.
Ancora durante questi anni con il suo obiettivo entra nel fantastico mondo della danza dove scopre quelle capacità interpretative che gli permetteranno di realizzare le sue visioni fantastiche, preferibilmente in bianco e nero.
Mostre e libri raffinatissimi rappresentano il suo linguaggio.
Nel suo teatro magico, situato a Milano Bicocca, si respira immediatamente l’arte e la creatività, la passione e la molteplicità delle esperienze multimediali di questo artista e professionista completo, unico nel suo genere.
Di lui, il grande Maestro di danza Walter Venditti ha scritto: “Le sue immagini parlano, fanno pensare, sprigionano amore e azione oltre a suscitare attrazione visiva.”
